How it all began

and what everyone has the choice to change…

Over the years I found myself increasingly getting disturbed by what our society is accepting as appropriate conduct. Ranging from what I see in movie trending, the music industry and big business, to the sports and fashion industries. It all seems to be focusing more and more on negativity, greed, and shock values.

I do not want to support a vicious circle of negative behaviors. I want to encourage, support and congratulate people and hope to define myself in the process as well. Why are people almost embarrassed to be proud of being good. I see plenty of people bragging about being a bad ass…. It seems to me that good, ethical people need to be comfortable in who they are and be more outgoing about it…. It’s not bragging if you are genuinely encouraging others in the process and teaching stories of triumph. Share the good in life and you help and encourage others.

For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what I could possibly do to make a difference…. I mean we are talking about an entire planet of questionable behaviors…. Really what can ONE single person do??? Well, the best I could come up with was this. Maybe, just maybe, by putting WORDS on shirts and having walking billboards of better thoughts out there… maybe someone will at least stop and think about what they are doing at that moment… “is this a kind thing to do, or the right thing to do”…. Because no matter what way you look at it “every word read, puts a thought in someone’s head”. Maybe not the same effect as a national demonstration, but at least it’s SOMETHING.

So, that is how it all started. I only have to work with – what I have to work with – and being a graphic designer with an already established t-shirt business, I just sat down and picked the words that I miss the most in this world. And if you are still reading this right now… yes, these ideas are now in your head too and you can decide what to do with them. I encourage you think about it. When you change your thoughts, you take part in changing the entire world….
